Job Description

Position: Project Coordinator (Work from home!!!)

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

Duration: 12 months+ contract with high possibility of extension

Pay rate: $28.00/hour

Note:

  • Remote role, equipment pickup required at Maximus office; return on-site when office reopens.
  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST
  • Remote Training: To Be Confirmed (TBC)
  • Proficiency Required: Microsoft Project (must-have)

Education, Experience & Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word , and other standard office software.
  • Strong transcription skills and knowledge of office equipment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Track project progress and ensure stakeholders remain aligned with deadlines and deliverables.
  2. Build and maintain engagement across teams to achieve project goals.
  3. Ensure all project correspondence meets Client standards (accuracy, grammar, and formatting).
  4. Prepare work summaries, reports, and project readouts.
  5. Document and track lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to identify requirements, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  7. Adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines with flexibility and resourcefulness.
  8. Proactively identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation (meeting minutes, action items, project plans).
  10. Stay current on contract compliance provisions relevant to the project and role.
  11. Follow policies and procedures consistently without deviation.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
