Job Description

A trusted and well-established hospital in Northern New England is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join its Emergency and Urgent Care team . This is an excellent opportunity to practice broad-scope medicine in a collaborative environment while enjoying life in one of the most scenic regions of the country — known for its skiing, hiking, and year-round outdoor recreation.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of conditions in both emergency and urgent care settings. You’ll work alongside skilled physicians and clinical staff while maintaining the autonomy to make independent medical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical exams
  • Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging
  • Prescribe medications and create individualized treatment plans
  • Assist in procedures and respond to medical emergencies as needed
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license (or eligibility) in the state of practice
  • Emergency medicine and/or urgent care experience required
  • New graduates will not be considered
  • Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, team-oriented clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package
  • Supportive, collaborative medical staff and leadership team
  • A welcoming community and hospital culture
  • Endless outdoor recreation — from mountain biking and skiing to kayaking and hiking
  • A chance to make a real difference in a community that values its healthcare professionals

If you’re an experienced Physician Assistant seeking a rewarding role in a high-acuity clinical setting — and the lifestyle that comes with living in Northern New England — we encourage you to apply today.
