Director, Payroll & Benefits

Location: Montvale, NJ (Onsite Mon–Fri)

Reports To: VP, FP&A

FTE

Overview:

Seeking a seasoned leader to head Payroll and Benefits for a 2,000-employee global workforce. This role drives strategy, compliance, vendor management, and optimization of payroll and benefits programs including health, wellness, and 401(k). The position requires executive presence, strong decision-making, and the ability to communicate with clarity and influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage benefits and wellness strategy
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
  • Oversee payroll operations and vendor contracts
  • Lead annual budgeting and cost analysis
  • Drive internal communications and employee engagement
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Legal
  • Lead and develop a small team

Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in payroll and benefits, with leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s in Business, HR, or related field (CPP/CEBS preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce preferred)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills
