People Architects is partnering with a fast-growing, industrial manufacturing company at a pivotal point in its evolution. Once a founder-led shop, the company has since partnered with a private equity firm focused on buy-to-own, long-term value—not quick flips. With significant growth capital secured, the business is undergoing a cultural shift: from micromanaged to empowered, from legacy practices to scalable infrastructure, and from one plant to a multi-site platform with national reach.

Position Overview:

We’re hiring a Director of Operations to lead the next phase of growth and operational maturity. This is a newly elevated role replacing a long-standing Operations Manager who is retiring. Most critically, you'll be deeply involved in M&A activity—from due diligence to post-close integration—as the company continues to scale. This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-change, entrepreneurial environments, especially within private equity-backed manufacturing companies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day operational oversight of two local facilities (3 miles apart)
  • Hire, develop, and oversee future operations managers to support facility leadership
  • Partner with executive leadership and the M&A team to evaluate, plan, and integrate new acquisitions
  • Travel regularly to new and existing sites across the Northeast and beyond (up to 50%)
  • Oversee or support key cross-functional areas such as safety, logistics, and IT (with the IT Manager reporting into this role eventually)
  • Analyze and optimize processes, identify redundancies, and lead initiatives to scale infrastructure and increase profitability
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador and change leader during this critical transition toward a more modern, empowered workplace

What We’re Looking For Required:

  • 7–10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, ideally in industrial manufacturing
  • Experience in a PE-backed company, particularly with M&A exposure (buy-side or sell-side)
  • Proven ability to scale operations across multiple facilities, including post-acquisition integration
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking approach to process improvement and change management
  • Experience with ERP systems (evaluation, upgrade, or implementation)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred:

  • Experience in a high-growth, roll-up environment
  • Exposure to or oversight of IT and systems functions
