Senior Staff Electrical Engineer – Space Avionics

Location: Gilbert, AZ (Relocation Available)

Salary Range: $150,000 – $195,000

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required (ability to obtain security clearance)

We are seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to serve as a technical authority across multiple spacecraft and defense programs. This role is hands-on, high-impact, and ideal for an engineer with deep experience in avionics hardware, power electronics, embedded systems, and digital circuit design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of space-grade avionics electronics, digital boards, and power conversion systems
• Drive root cause investigations, failure analysis, and production/qualification support
• Provide technical leadership across programs—mentoring engineers, guiding architecture, and improving engineering processes
• Collaborate closely with Systems, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality to resolve complex hardware issues
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and lead design reviews

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in avionics, spacecraft electronics, or mission-critical defense hardware
• Strong expertise in power conversion (DC-DC, power conditioning, EMI/EMC)
• Hands-on experience with digital board-level design, embedded hardware, and processor-based systems
• Background supporting flight hardware lifecycle (build, test, qualification, sustainment)
• Proven leadership in failure analysis and production issue resolution
• U.S. Citizen (required for security clearance)

Preferred

• Experience with space-grade or military-grade electronics
• Mixed-signal design experience
• FPGA system integration background
