Job Title: Risk Adjustment Coder (Coding Educator)

Duration: 26 weeks contract to hire

Location: Greensboro, NC 27401

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Hybrid (Local candidates only)

• 3–5 days of initial onsite training, then 2–4 times/month onsite depending on educational needs and site meetings

Start Date: 10/27/2025

Job Summary:

The Coding Educator – Risk Adjustment provides coding training and education, supporting physicians, mid-level providers, and staff in understanding and capturing HCCs for appropriate organization members. This role includes prospective and retrospective chart reviews, provider assessments, and one-on-one or group education, working under general supervision.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Certified Coding Specialist (CPC) required – no other coding certifications accepted
• CRC certification preferred (in addition to CPC)
• 2–5 years of risk adjustment coding experience
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Abstract diagnosis codes per THN policy to educate providers and staff on accurate HCC coding
• Prepare targeted education for providers and staff with practice-specific information
• Serve as a coding resource and respond to inquiries promptly
• Maintain professional relationships with physicians, clinical, administrative, and internal staff
• Assist leadership with EMR access across practices
• Participate in THN POD meetings and complete required logs and process forms
• Perform other duties as assigned
