Job Description

The R&D Manager supports the sales team with deep technical expertise across Compounds, FTNF, Fibers and Colors. Develop tailored solutions, ensure customer satisfaction, and be responsible for ensuring the sales budget for his\her assigned customers is met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Technical Expertise

  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of all company solutions:
  • Compounds
  • FTNF
  • Colors
  • Fibers
  • Understand product functionalities, applications, and performance across various customer segments.

2. Technical Support for Sales

  • Serve as a key technical partner to the sales team
  • Ensuring the sales budget for the relevant customers is being achieved
  • Join customer meetings alongside commercial team members to address technical questions and develop customized product solutions.
  • Support the sales team in preparing for tenders, presentations, and product positioning strategies.

3. Customer-Centric Solutions

  • Translate customer requirements into viable technical solutions.
  • Product testing, and support during reformulations or product launches.
  • Ensure technical documentation and samples are accurate and provided in a timely manner.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Production teams to validate solutions and ensure feasibility and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Categories to ensure alignment on products compliance with customer requirements

5. Product Intelligence

  • Monitor trends in ingredients, formulations, and customer needs.
  • Provide feedback to R&D and marketing teams on technical gaps and potential innovation opportunities.

6. Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Train internal sales teams and distribution partners on technical aspects of products and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date technical documentation and sales enablement tools.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • +5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within the ingredients or flavor industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of FTNF products, their production processes, and applications in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of natural fruit extracts and essential oils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer relationships and present technical concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong analytical skills for market research and sales forecasting.
