Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for performing routine microbiological testing and environmental monitoring to support quality control activities in compliance with GMP and SOP guidelines. Tasks are generally supervised and include collecting environmental samples, conducting microbial identification, and maintaining lab equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine environmental monitoring in aseptic manufacturing areas, including viable and non-viable air and surface sampling.
• Conduct microbial plate reads and perform contaminant identification.
• Support protocol execution and validation testing as needed.
• Prepare and maintain environmental monitoring equipment and lab supplies.
• Follow SOPs to ensure consistent and accurate monitoring practices.
• Enter and track test results using data management and LIMS systems.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
• Operate standard laboratory equipment and assist with autoclave operation, media prep, and glassware cleaning.
• May be responsible for ordering laboratory supplies.
• Complete additional duties or projects as assigned within the role’s scope.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology preferred.
• Associate’s degree or active pursuit of a relevant degree with applicable microbiology experience will be considered.

Experience:

• 1–2 years of relevant lab or environmental monitoring experience.

Skills:

• Proficient in bacterial enumeration and Gram staining techniques.
• Skilled in aseptic techniques and cleanroom operations.
• Ability to meet aseptic gowning requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with LIMS preferred.
