Job Description

Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Project Controls Professional II will support project teams by developing scope, preparing detailed schedules in P6, and integrating cost estimates for resource-loaded projections. The role includes evaluating cost performance, managing budget changes, and maintaining data accuracy across systems to ensure reliable forecasting and continuous improvement. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $63.35 - $88.47

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing project scope and collaborate with assigned teams.
  • Prepare Level 1–4 detailed implementation schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Integrate cost estimates with schedules to produce resource-loaded projections.
  • Analyze schedule deviations and report potential cost/schedule impacts.
  • Evaluate real-time cost data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support development of accurate Estimate to Completion (ETC) forecasts.
  • Generate financial health reports and track scope/funding changes.
  • Record and communicate budget impacts using appropriate software tools.
  • Implement approved budget and schedule changes into baseline plans.
  • Enter and manage project data across multiple databases.
  • Perform consistency reviews and apply lessons learned for improvement.
  • Attend project meetings and provide process improvement recommendations.
  • Execute tasks as delegated and maintain alignment with project procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related discipline and 3–5 years of relevant experience in project controls, planning, cost analysis, or scheduling.
  • OR A degree and 7 years of relevant experience in project controls, planning, cost analysis, or scheduling in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related discipline
  • OR High School diploma or GED and 9 years of relevant experience in project controls, planning, cost analysis, or scheduling in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related discipline
  • Earned Value Management experience and methodology knowledge
  • Preferred certifications: EIT, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or PMI-SP
  • Proficient in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Skilled in cost tracking, schedule interpretation, and forecasting
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and data validation abilities
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with variance analysis and project reporting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of professional project management principles
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage interrelated tasks
  • Experience with large-scale projects ($25M+ budgets)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Asset Suite, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Workday
  • Understanding of utility industry operations and nuclear plant processes (BWR preferred)
  • Experience in process improvement and general accounting principles
