Hurray is making seriously unserious brands. Launched in Los Angeles in September 2024, we take an outrageous approach to beverages. Our first-born is Hurray’s Girl Beer, the beer to out-girl all beers - flipping the pre-existing cultures of the beer category through diabolical anti-branding. We launched the line in Southern California with major chain retailers and are growing our team and footprint quickly across key markets. We have a lot of stuff going on, and we’re gearing up for this next phase of the business, so plssss help us tell the good people of the United States of America about our girl beers.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Do you like beer? Do you like yapping endlessly, but like, in a strategic way? Then this might be the job for you.

The Market Sales Manager role is focused on rapidly growing our brand presence across key Austin retail accounts. You'll be out in the field daily. You will focus on improving in-store visibility through securing impactful store-level placements (in both chain and independent retailers), implementing strategies to continue to drive velocities, and quickly expanding our independent retailer footprint (both on and off prem, with a focus on off prem). Our brand is distributed through a diverse range of retailers, which includes and will include national natural grocery chains, national grocery chains, liquor store chains, large format retail, and independent stores.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own your assigned territory in Austin
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with distributor reps, chain store-level buyers, and independent retailer buyers to grow our portfolio.
  • Open and manage new independent off- and on-premise accounts, maintaining strong relationships through regular check-ins.
  • Secure high-value retail placements (end caps, floor stacks, displays, etc) to drive visibility and velocity in existing accounts.
  • Execute against weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals and KPIs set by the CEO and Regional Sales Manager.
  • Work closely with distributor sales teams to execute initiatives, schedule ride-alongs, and participate in ABPs as directed.
  • Stay in daily communication with distributor reps (calls, emails, in-person visits), cultivating strong working relationships.
  • Prioritize only the highest-impact accounts, staying tightly aligned with company strategy and territory priorities—this role demands disciplined execution of the company’s sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with the brand ambassador team to plan and deliver weekly in-store samplings, events, and sponsorships.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting of sales performance, account insights, and field activity using VIP and internal company sales dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Provide weekly recaps and insights to the Regional Sales Manager and CEO.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ years of sales experience in the beverage industry with prior distributor management experience required
  • Experience working with both chain and independent retail buyers at the store level
  • Track record of securing retail placements and driving velocity at the store level
  • Experience activating and managing field marketing efforts (demos, sampling, events)
  • Ability to travel within Austin and manage a field-based territory

ABOUT YOU:

  • Quick learner of consumers and customers - can read the room
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills, (etc etc etc)
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and asking smart questions to find solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (but it’s cool if you're a little weird)
  • Familiarity with retail sales reporting and tools (VIP, Karma, IRI, Nielsen, or internal distributor data systems)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Slack

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clean driver's license, reliable transportation (5+ days/week), and valid insurance
  • Ability to lift and transport cases of product, event materials, or POS as needed
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends
  • Have cell phone and computer
  • Not named Connor (preferred)
