Job details
Company Description
Dog Father Grooming is Connecticut’s leading, locally grown salon and mobile pet grooming service — proudly serving pets and families across Southern Connecticut for over 19 years. With a fleet of 20+ fully equipped mobile grooming vans, we groom more than 30,000 dogs each year with expertise, care, and love.
We’re looking for motivated individuals who love working with animals and want to build a career in professional dog grooming. No prior grooming experience is required — we provide 4–8 weeks of hands-on, paid training in our state-of-the-art mobile grooming vans, led by experienced professional trainers. If you’re eager to learn, enjoy working independently, and want to grow in a supportive environment, this is the perfect opportunity to start your grooming career.
Why This Is a Great Time to Start in Dog Grooming
The pet grooming market is booming — in the U.S. alone, the pet grooming services sector was valued at around USD 2.06 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow at about 6.7% annually through 2030.
In an age of automation and artificial intelligence, many jobs are being replaced or transformed. But dog grooming remains firmly a hands-on, human-centric profession — machines and AI can’t replicate the empathy, judgment, and gentle care needed when working with animals. Roles in personal services, grooming, and care are among those seen as least vulnerable to full automation.
Here at Dog Father Grooming, you’ll benefit from a professional, locally rooted company culture — not a corporate chain. We pride ourselves on being relationship-driven and deeply connected to the communities we serve. Our training, tools, and processes are top-tier, but our atmosphere is personal, inclusive, and growth-oriented.
Job Summary
This is a full-time mobile role based in Southern Connecticut (New Haven County and Fairfield County). After successfully completing our training program, you will travel to client appointments in a fully equipped company van, provide professional grooming services—including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and styling—and deliver exceptional care and customer service. You’ll work independently on the road while being supported by a strong operational team and a loyal client base, giving you both stability and the freedom to focus on your work.
