Position Overview:
Atlas Foundation Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Earthwork and/or Deep Foundation Estimator/Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position combines the critical responsibilities of accurately estimating project costs with overseeing and managing projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finding prospective work, performing accurate takeoffs, budgeting, estimating, and project management, with a proven ability to coordinate resources, communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The communication function is key to ensure that the quality and timeliness of work is satisfactory, ensuring Atlas Foundation Company is the customer’s first thought when it comes to earthwork and deep foundation needs.
Essential Duties:
· Business Development: Identify and pursue prospective work, building relationships with clients and securing new project opportunities.
· Estimating: Perform detailed and accurate takeoffs, prepare cost estimates based on project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
· Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
· Team Leadership: Lead project teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff, ensuring alignment with project goals and requirements.
· Quality Control: Monitor project progress, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure work adheres to deadlines and quality expectations.
· Stakeholder Communication: Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and maintaining strong client relationships.
· Contract Administration: Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and other project-related documentation.
· Performance Monitoring: Track project performance, adjust plans and strategies as necessary to stay on target with objectives.
· Professional Development: Participate in professional educational opportunities, industry events, and continue learning to stay informed on industry trends and innovations.
· Innovation: Seek opportunities to innovate, adding value to projects by identifying new materials, processes, and applications for existing and new services.
· Collaboration: Support other Estimators and Project Managers on an as-needed basis, fostering a team-oriented environment and sharing best practices.
· Client Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, vendors, and other external partners to ensure repeat business and long-term success.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Experience: 2-5 years of experience in construction, with a focus on earthwork and/or deep foundation work.
· Project Management & Estimating Expertise: Proven experience in both estimating and managing projects, particularly within the earthwork or foundation sectors.
· Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of estimating software, project management tools, and construction processes.
· Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Education: A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
· Self-Starter: A proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
· Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project software is required.
· Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards and best practices within the earthwork and deep foundation sectors.
· Professionalism: Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment, and a growth mindset.
· Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and take on new challenges as the company grows.
· Team Support: Ability to support team members as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience in leading projects related to deep foundations or earthwork.
· Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or LEED are a plus.
· Familiarity with service level agreements (SLAs) and contract compliance.
