Are you a detail-oriented and organized finance professional with a passion for process? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy tackling new challenges? We are seeking a proactive and skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our San Francisco-based team. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in the office two days a week . In this key position, you will be instrumental in managing the firm's financial transactions and ensuring the seamless operation of our accounting department.

What You’ll Do: Your Impact

• Manage High-Volume Payables: Take ownership of the full accounts payable cycle, from processing and coding a high volume of vendor invoices to reconciling statements and preparing weekly payment runs.
• Ensure Accuracy & Compliance: Collaborate closely with our Controller, Billing, and Practice Teams to ensure all invoices are accurate, properly coded to the general ledger and client matters, and compliant with all internal and client guidelines.
• Streamline Financial Processes: Assist with month-end close activities, support the accounting team on process improvements, and contribute to special projects that enhance our efficiency and financial accuracy.
• Cultivate Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor onboarding, ensure compliance with W-9 and 1099 requirements, and serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries.
• Oversee Expense & Cost Recovery: Review employee expense reports for policy compliance and ensure direct case costs are accurately captured for client billing.

Who We’re Looking For

• You have 1-2+ years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related experience , ideally in a high-volume professional services or law firm environment.
• You possess a strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• You are proficient with Microsoft Excel (e.g., sorting, filtering, and basic formulas) and are a quick learner when it comes to new financial systems.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to work professionally with attorneys, vendors, and staff.
